Poetry Translation Contest Announced by STOUH International Friendship Club
STOUH’s International Friendship Club has announced its first-ever contest for the translation of foreign-language poetry into Russian. Students, faculty, staff, and alumni of the university are invited to participate.

To participate in the contest, students must translate from one of the following languages: German, English, French, Italian, Spanish, Serbian, Arabic, Syriac, Ancient Greek, Church Slavonic, Latin, Armenian, Georgian, and Hebrew.

The translations will be judged by a panel of judges made up of STOUH faculty and, in particular, experts in the field of philology and native speakers.

The winners of the contest will be announced during a musical-poetic evening which will take place on May 28 at STOUH’s conference hall (23b Novokuznetskaia St.). During the gala evening, all contestants will have the chance to recite their poems.

The best poems will be published in a literary magazine. In addition, the winners will receive gift certificates worth up to ₽5,000. More information can be found on our Telegram channel, PSTGU_international, and in the “Translation Poetry Contest” vKontakte group.
